Hi, and welcome to Handball4everyone!
My name is Igor Vrbljanac and handball has been part of my life for over 30 years — first as a player, and for more than two decades now as a coach.
I've coached youth teams as they took their very first steps on the court, and I've coached senior teams competing at a serious level. Somewhere along the way, I realized I had far too many opinions, stories, and lessons learned to keep to myself — so this blog was born.
Why "Handball4everyone"?
Because that’s exactly what I believe handball is: a sport for everyone.
It doesn’t matter if you’re six years old playing your first game of mini handball, a teenager grinding through your club’s youth program, a weekend warrior chasing the ball on the beach, or a seasoned senior player who’s been doing this for decades. Handball has something for every one of us — and every version of the game deserves attention.
That’s why this blog covers three sides of the sport I love:
- Handball — tactics, training, coaching insights, and everything happening in the game at every level.
- Mini handball — because how we introduce the sport to kids shapes the players (and the love for the game) they grow into.
- Beach handball — the faster, sunnier, more spectacular cousin of indoor handball, and one that deserves a lot more love.

A bit about me
Handball found me young, and I never really left. I’ve played it, coached it, obsessed over it, and — most days — still learn something new from it. Coaching youth teams keeps me close to why the game matters in the first place: the joy, the fumbles, the first real pass that clicks. Coaching seniors keeps me sharp on the details that separate a good team from a great one.
This blog is where those two worlds meet, along with everything in between.
