Who we are
Our website address is: https://handball4everyone.com
Handball4everyone is a blog about handball, mini handball, and beach handball. This page explains what personal data we collect from visitors, why we collect it, and what rights you have over that data.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract location data from images on the site.
Contact forms
If you get in touch through a contact form on this site, we collect the information you submit — typically your name, email address, and message — solely to respond to your inquiry. This information is not added to any mailing list or used for marketing purposes unless you separately opt in (for example, by subscribing to a newsletter). Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to handle your request, unless you have an ongoing relationship with us (e.g. as a guest contributor).
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you do not have to re-enter your details when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we also set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies are removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited that other website directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content — including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
We use [e.g. Google Analytics / Jetpack Stats / Plausible] to understand how visitors use this site — for example, which posts are popular and how people find the blog. This may involve collecting data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. [If using Google Analytics or another third-party tool, link to their privacy policy here, e.g. https://policies.google.com/privacy]
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share data with:
- Service providers who help operate the site, such as our hosting provider and the analytics tool named above, solely to provide their service to us.
- Spam detection services (see below) for comment moderation.
- Legal authorities, if required by law.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically rather than holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if applicable), we also store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to the inquiry, as described above.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to restrict or object to certain processing of your data and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [your contact email].
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service (e.g. Akismet). [If using Akismet or similar, note that comment data may be transmitted to that service; see: https://automattic.com/privacy/]
